When I ran out of murder mysteries to watch, writing them seemed the logical thing to do.
I’m currently seeking representation for my mystery and romance and having a blast with the query process. It has its ups and downs as well as a certain amount of bloodshed. But the art is in collecting rejections and not being afraid of them. Sooner or later, there will be an acceptance somewhere, and perhaps an angel will get its wings.
CODED FOR MURDER, Colorado Gold Award winner for best mystery and a Daphne du Maurier Mystery Award finalist is the first in a series of Chief Inspector Derek James novels. It’s set in a health tech startup since I’m interested in technology companies. The second novel is underway and adds an oddball physician to the team. James is going to be in big, big trouble in the next book.
MURDEROUS DEPTHS is a romantic suspense. An excerpt can be found on my blog.
I am also writing a multicultural Literary Fiction novel called NOT INDO-CANADIAN, an excerpt of which is posted on the blog. Comments and feedback from readers are appreciated.
What else can I tell you about myself? I spend more time editing than writing my books. I drink too much coffee. Good coffee. And my sweet tooth is beyond out of control. I will always be addicted to Star Wars, regardless of whether or not it is popular. I’ve read every Christi, PD James, and Colin Dexter book several times. I love Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, but in real life, he’d get old and boring quickly. I hate driving, but have to cart everyone around for hours every day.
